Episode 4 - Randolph County Infirmary Recap Originally Aired March 25, 2016 By Christiane Elin March 29, 2016- Paranormal Lockdown investigates the Rural Woodchester, Indiana location of Randolph County Infirmary. The building used to be a safe haven for people who couldn't care for themselves. In 1852, a 16-room poor house occupied the site filled with the mentally and physically disabled, orphans, and destitute families. A fire destroyed the original wood building and a new building replaced it. The building was open for nearly a century. Nick and Katrina arrive to see if any of the former residence still occupy the infirmary. Adam Kimmel, Property Manager and Co-Owner, gives Nick and Katrina a tour of the location. The owners are in the middle of renovating the property. The owner, Adam, says they bought this place because they were interested in residual hauntings. Nick comments that residual hauntings are hard to capture since you can't ask for the activity to happen. Adam details a story of hearing a doorknob jiggle, hearing footsteps on the staircase and audibly hearing a woman singing. Adam says they believe that a foundation on the property is also the place where there are unmarked graves from the first asylum. Adam says from the death records they have found at least over two hundred reported deaths on the property. Two siblings, Chance and Sidnie Burge, who lived on the property in 1996 when it was a nursing home, visit Nick and Katrina in the infirmary. Chance and Sidnie point out two rooms Doris's room, a resident who liked porcelain dolls and Bill, a longtime resident, who liked to play checker's. There is jail cell in the infirmary that used to house unruly residence. Sidnie said she would hear footsteps and people talking when her and her brother would play in it. Chance mentions he would see shadow figures in the basement. They move to the basement. Sidnie feels an uneasiness that something is going to pop out at her. She feels watched. While touring the basement, Katrina feels some energy flow through her and she feels nearly knocked off her feet. Sidnie says that the same thing that happened to Katrina has happened to her many times. Dan Allen, Randolph County Infirmary Co-Owner, shares his paranomal incident with Nick and Katrina. He heard three footsteps right behind him, as if someone was waiting in line behind him. He says it was a man apparition. Nick, Katrina, and Rob, the cameraman begin a night investigation. Katrina says she keeps feeling a male presence which helps her feel that substantiates Randolph County Infirmary Co-Owner, Dan Allen's experience. Katrina asks if the spirits can make a sound. Nick and Katrina hear footsteps. Nick has a feeling that something is following them. Nick feels that some sort of energy is channeling through him. Nick says he doesn't feel right. Nick and Katrina go to the first floor, Doris's room, one of the infirmary's last residents. Nick and Katrina aren't getting activity or feeling any energy. Nick and Katrina move into Bill's room. Phil died shortly before the home closed down. Bill's health declined when he had heard news of the home closing. Nick and Katrina set up a checker board and a Geo-box to communicate with Bill. There is no response in Bill's room and Nick is getting cold so they start moving to a new location. While in the hallway, Nick hears a metal door knocking sound. Nick points out, even if claims are residual for this location, he is still asking questions to see if he receives in communication in return. The team hear a sound like a door shutting on the first floor. The team moves back to Doris's room with the Geobox. Nick and Katrina ask if Doris is there or if there is anybody there that can respond to us? The Geobox says, "Responding to you." Nick says, "Responding to her?" The Geobox says, "You're right." Katrina asks, "What are we right about?" The Geobox says," Spirit Guide. Energy." Katrina asks, "Can you say either one of our names?" The Geobox responds with, "Katrina." Katrina asks, "Can you say my name again?" The Gebox responds, "Katrina." Nick and Katrina are excited by the Geobox's responses. Nick and Katrina split up. Nick sets up a Jacob's Ladder at the jail cell. After running the Jacob's Ladder to stir up energy, Nick sets up his bed inside the jail cell. While laying down, Nick hears a woman's voice. Katrina is in the basement and sets up her bed for the night. While laying down, Katrina hears a banging sound. Morning comes, Katrina wakes up Nick. Nick had a hard time waking up. To keep warm, since the location is not heated, Katrina and Nick do a workout to warm up and have breakfast. Nick and Katrina go outside on the infirmary property. Nick reviews an old map. There are four mounds that they think could be unmarked grave sites. Grant Wilson, formerly of Ghost Hunters, joins Nick and Katrina in the infirmary building. Grant lends his expertise in the difference between residual and intelligent hauntings. Nick, Katrina, and Grant decide to get into a lights out investigation. When asking for some communication, the team hears a banging noise in response. They go check out where the noise came from. They do some investigating and find the sound was from a door handle. Katrina says, "You got both of the things you asked for, a door and a bang." Nick and Katrina investigate in separate areas of the infirmary while Grant watches on the monitors guiding their investigation. Grant spots a light on the monitors and asks Katrina to check it out. Nick hears a sound next to him. The sound was loud enough for Katrina and Grant to hear as well. Nicks says the sound was like someone opening the jail cell and walking right up to him. Katrina hears a sound of keys. Nick feels like something is watching him. Katrina hears a loud scuffling sound. Grant confirms that there is no one else in the area that Katrina hears the noises. Since the noises that Nick and Katrina hear are around the same time, in a sequence, they go upstairs to confer with Grant. They decide the infirmary has residual activity and it has the right environment to manifest entities. Grant departs after his words of wisdom. Nick and Katrina are left to investigate. The infirmary is below freezing affecting their ability to investigate. They both find places to investigate at the "devil's hour." Nick is in the basement. Katrina goes back up to the living quarters on the second floor. They both sleep in those locations for the night. Nick is startled awake by a loud noise. Nick and Katrina review Nick's footage in the morning. They decide to concentrate on the basement for the final night's investigation. Nick is feeling the affects of the below zero temperatures. Katrina brings an empathetic tone to the investigation when speaking about Randolph County Infirmary and its poor house history. Nick and Katrina do an EVP session and capture an EVP upon review. The recorder captures a "Hello?" Nick and Katrina talk through the last night at the infrimary. They were too tired and cold to sleep. During the packing up time, they both point out that they are very worn out by the location. They feel residual hauntings leave for no down time. Nick is convinced the location has both residual and intelligent hauntings. Paranormal Lockdown airs on Friday at 10/9c on Destination America.
