March 17, 2016- The Paranormal Lockdown duo visit the Anderson Hotel in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. The episode begins with a voiceover explaining the bleak history of the hotel which was open from 1930’s to the 1980’s. The hotel history includes deaths and a fire. Nick and Katrina arrive to begin their 72-hour lockdown. They meet with Jeff Waldridge, paranormal researcher and local ghost tour guide, who starts their tour of the hotel. Jeff welcomes the team home and comments believe me this is the nice part. Katrina asks if it gets worse and Jeff says it gets way worse. Nick says they will be the first guests to spend the night there since 1987. Nick says the location is like entering a paranormal time capsule. Nick says the rooms are filled with the last residences belongings. Nick says it feels desolate, the carpet and walls are thick with the filth of years of neglect. Nick inquires to what is happening at the location. Jeff says that people were getting attacked and that they need help. Jeff says there are some bad spirits there. There was a hanging by suicide and 19-year old girl who slit her wrists. Jeff takes Nick and Katrina to the room where the girl’s suicide happened. The room has the actual mattress where she killed herself. Katrina commented that it is one thing to go in a room where there was a suicide and completely different seeing evidence of a suicide. The girl’s suicide was in the 1980’s and according to Jeff, she was the last one to stay in the room. Jeff says he keeps everything in the rooms. He says it belongs to the unseen residences. They highlight the crayoned bible verses thumbtacked to the wall as revealing that the girl was fighting her inner demons. The tour moves on to the room where the man hung himself. They open the closet where a man hung himself in 1978. Jeff says if you touch his things, the hanged man touches you. Jeff says that the man targets women. Katrina comments that although this male spirit is aggressive there’s another spirit that Jeff is worried about. Physical attacks happen throughout the hotel. Nick seems to think the other two spirits stay in their rooms while another roams. Donnie Irvin, Paranormal Investigator, visits the location to share his attack at the Anderson Hotel. He shares a photo of a bite looking mark on the top of his foot. In 1974, a fire broke out in the hotel. Donnie recounts a story about his mother, a former employee, who saw a burning man in the window. Nick and Katrina visit Betsy Horton, the owner of a bakery, located on the ground level of the Anderson Hotel. She said they had done renovations in the bakery and have brought old doors from the hotel into the restaurant. Betsy says while painting the doors she felt an uncomfortable presence. She assertively asked it to leave. Nick, Katrina, and Rob begin the night investigation. They are using a digital recorder, Geobox, and a brain monitoring system (it will be used while their sleeping). The bloody mattress room is the first stop. Katrina felt something that she didn’t know what it was. Nick then says he felt a hand against his back. Katrina said her jacket moved. Nick said he felt a hand against his skin. The Geobox session starts. Katrina thinks it is saying bed. Nick asks if there is a women in the room? Geobox respnds with a female voice, “Yes.” Nicks asks, “Is there an angry man who is harming people? Geobox responds, “Attacking people.” Nick asks, “Are you attacking people? The geobox responds, “I was.” Via the Geobox, they hear a girl crying and say “I’m leaving.” Nick puts on the brain monitoring system to lay down on the bloody mattress. He is feeling emotionally uncomfortable to lay on the bed. He sits down and feels like he is in mud sinking. When he tries to lay down on the bed, he has a hard time lying flat. Nick falls asleep for a bit. When he wakes up he says he felt sadness and like a murder. Nick checks the recorder and what should be silence, catches footsteps/shuffling sounds. While reviewing they hear a scream and the words get out, get out! Katrina decides to not lay on the bed but set up a cot next to the bed for the night. Nick sets up his bed in the area where Donnie was bitten next to the Burnt Man’s room. While sleeping Nick has something wake him up and he hears shuffling noise in the room next to him. Katrina gets pressure in her nose that she finds weird. Day two begins. Nick and Katrina didn’t get much sleep and are feeling tired. They start investigating in the hanging man’s room. Katrina ask, “Do you think I stole your alcohol? What do you do to people who steal your alcohol?” After she asks this question, Nick checks the recorder. Katrina and Nick agree that they think they hear response that says, “Kill them.” The use the Geobox in the closet where the man hung himself. Nick asks, “Who’s harming people?” Geobox response, “Me.” Katrina ask, “Why are you hurting people?” Geobox response, “Torture.” Nick asks, “Can you please tell us how you died?” Geobox response, “I hung.” When Nick goes to retrieve the Geobox out of the closet, the Geobox says, “Don’t touch me.” Nick and Katrina agree that this entity is not negative but feels their space is being invaded. #spaceinvaders The night two investigation begins in the Burnt Man’s room. Nick recounts a story of a longtime resident that stayed in the room but couldn’t stay in that particular room because he kept waking up and seeing a half burnt man in his room. They begin an EVP session. Nick gets a feeling in the room. Nick feels the spirit is playing games with them and asks the spirit join them in the room. Nick starts moving to other rooms. Nick comments that something is off in the room. Upon review on his recorder, he hears an EVP that says, “Get out.” Nick wonders out loud on what made him be drawn to the room that he captured the EVP in. Katrina believes the other spirits could be helping in getting the negative, angry spirit out. They are providing them with warnings. While Nick and Katrina are talking. Rob moves his camera when he hears a swish or shuffling sound. He describes hearing shuffling on the carpet in the room next to them. Katrina asks, “If they are getting upset that we are still here?” Then Rob says, “Ow! What the f*ck is that?” Rob sits his camera down, Katrina asks Rob is he is alright. Rob pulls up his shirt to ask if there is a big bug on him. Katrina asks, “What is that?” As they look at Rob’s back, they see a circle marks that appear to be bite marks. Katrina comments that is a very powerful spirit to make marks like that. Rob decides to leave for the night. Nick and Katrina talk over what just happened with Rob. During the Devil’s hour (3-4 a.m.), they split up to investigate. Nick in the Burnt Man’s room and Katrina in the hanging man’s room, where females seemed to be bothered most. Nick and Katrina get bolder in their investigation technique turning more aggressive and intolerant of the entity that bit Rob. After about an hour, Nick says the room settled. Katrina comments that the entity must have used up all of its energy on the attack on Rob. Nick and Katrina feel they need to get rid of the entity. Katrina stays in the room where the Burnt Man was seen at the window. Nick stays in the Burnt Man’s room. The morning of day three, Nick and Katrina feel they have identified the negative entity and are going to try to do something to release it from the hotel. Nick and Katrina decide to sage the hotel to push the negative entity out. Rob, the cameraman, returns. Rob says the marks are still there and the stinging went down. Rob decides to keep going. Nick and Katrina sage the entire hotel, room to room, ending in the burnt man’s room. The sage is meant to rid the location of negative energy. They set up lasers in the hallways to see if they see anything break the laser dots. While saging, Rob’s camera battery dies. Once again they hear a shuffling sound and feel the mood change in the hotel. They set up the Geobox in the Burnt Man’s room, one final time. The Geobox says, “You’re f*ucking killing me.” Katrina says, “This is no longer your home.” Geobox response, “Warning, guys.” Nick says, “The negative energy that is here, you have to leave.” Geobox response, “Understand.” Katrina asks, “Where are you right now?” Geobox response, “Here I am now.” Nicks asks, “If there is anything else he’d like to tell us?” Geobox reponse, “No.” Katrina says, “This is it, I’m coming in.” Geobox response, “You stay right there.” After the ghost eviction, Nick asks if Rob is alright. Rob says, “It does feel lighter.” Nick and Katrina rest easily for the remainder of the lockdown. #ghosteviction The morning arrives, as does hour 72. My Two Cents:
This episode was more amped up than the first. The paranormal activity was different than the first episode too. There was more mention of negative forces. I'm skeptical on many of the facts presented. Were they the first guests to stay the night there since 1987? Well, no, because Donnie Irvin, a guest on the show, said that he was attacked at the location during an overnight investigation. Plus the location is available to rent out for paranormal investigations. #factcheck Is the room filled with the last residences belongings? I’m pretty skeptical on that claim. #roaches I do not believe that the "bloody" mattress is the one the girl committed suicide on. How could a hotel stay open with a bloodied mattress? Do I ever want to stay on a hotel mattress again? If this is the case. I don't think the suicide girl was the last person to stay in the room. Sorry, TV show. Do suicidal girls carry around crayons and thumbtacks? Hmm… It was a new development that Nick and Katrina are qualified to help in ridding locations of negative entities. Is this Ghost Hunters? Did you know that Jeff Waldridge, the man who took Nick and Katrina on the tour of the hotel is the same person who runs Kentucky Ghost Tours and rents out The Anderson Hotel for investigations? Jeff also is the producer of The Nick Groff Tour. Now that Katrina and Nick have saged the location how active can the location be? #goodforbusiness #badforbusiness Was the lockdown 72 hours? If you want to get technical, Nick and Katrina visited Betsy downstairs in her bakery which had to be accessed from outside the building. Kudos to Katrina for defining the difference between human, inhuman/demonic hauntings. Katrina was cautious in defining what type of haunting this was. Katrina was caring and strong in this episode. It was great to see more of her personality show through. In conclusion, it was another fun episode to watch. #ghosteviction Where to find the writer: Christiane Elin: Mother, Girl Scout Leader, Paranormal Investigator, Event Management, Freelance Journalist, and Natural Redhead Websites: RedGlean.com FactorFakedFan.com Facebook: Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files Fans Red Glean Twitter: @ChristianeElin @Red_Glean @FactOrFaked |
